January 2007, Just checking older pages to see if I need to do an update, it look like the last pictures are almost 3 years old, so this summer I will get the camera out and take some pictures of Bailey, Shug and Jazmin in their new home. We have a wonderful yard here for them to play in. The past summer saw Jazmin only coming in to eat or late at night when she was called. She never attempted to get out of the yard which was my concern as this house is near a very busy highway. There seemed to be so much to investigate, lots of birds in the trees, lots of places to lay in the sun. Shug also took to the yard, she would spend almost as much time outside as inside, laying in sunny spots, barking at birds at the feeder and checking out the dogs who live on all three sides. A large Lab puppy on one side, two small poodles on the other and on the third side a small Pug. Lots of noisy conversations go on at the fence.  Bailey an the other hand still prefers climate controlled environments with soft things like beds, couches etc to sleep on. She would go out when I was out but if I was in the house she was inside as well.  It turns out that none of them like water or swimming. I promise new pictures as soon as the weather warms ups. Bailey

(taken when he was about 1 year old)
He is a Chinese Crested Powderpuff. He weighs about 16 pounds and stands about 14" at the shoulder.

Shug

Shug came from Montreal  Christmas '99 without papers so her parentage is anyone's guess. She is small (12 pounds, 12" at the shoulder), short haired and full of energy.
(Shug does not look like this any more she has turned into to one of those short stocky little dogs, round body, small head and a very very large heart. She  would never win any beauty prizes but what she lacks in good looks she makes up for in energy, enthusiasm and love of  life and people)

Jazmin is the third and oldest member of the family (excluding me of course) She is 8, loves people and will purr if you look at her. She puts up with the dogs silliness, has a laid back nature.

I just put a new bird feeder out on the deck and this is Jazmin waiting patiently for the birds to arrive. I have actually found her laying in the feeder upside down, she looked like she was waiting for dinner to fly into her mouth. A clear case of wishful thinking... a cat's version of the Lottery.
Don't worry about the birds, during bird feeding time the cat comes in the house and has a cat nap or two.
